The heat is only generated within the materials to be welded. The contents of the package are therefore only exposed to very little heat. The base also concentrates the energy, thus ensuring narrow, tight seams. This saves energy and packaging material and is therefore more environmentally friendly than other sealing methods.
Film packaging in particular benefits from ultrasonic sealing. During this process, product residues in the area of the weld seam are displaced. This creates a 100% tight seam. Due to the low heat load, there is no so-called film shrinkage, which is important for aesthetics.
