Description

 

Ultrasonic cutting knife (cutting machine) is a special application of ultrasonic cutting. It is a type of equipment that uses ultrasonic energy for cutting. Its biggest feature is that it does not use a cutting edge. In other words, there is no need for a cutting edge in the traditional sense.

 

Ultrasonic cutting knife, also known as ultrasonic cutting machine, is a kind of ultrasonic equipment specially used for cutting, and is one of the important categories of ultrasonic applications. The principle of ultrasonic cutting is completely different from cutting in the traditional sense. Ultrasonic cutting uses the energy of an ultrasonic transducer to locally melt the material being cut, thereby achieving the purpose of cutting the material. Therefore, ultrasonic cutting does not require sharp edges, nor does it require a large amount of pressure, which does not cause chipping and breakage of the material being cut. At the same time, because the cutting blade is performing ultrasonic vibration, the friction resistance is particularly small, and the material to be cut is not easy to stick to the blade. This is especially effective for cutting viscous and elastic materials, frozen materials such as food, rubber, etc., or objects that are inconveniently stressed.

 

Ultrasonic cutting also has a great advantage, that is, it has fusion effect at the cutting part while cutting, the cutting part is perfectly sealed, and it will not cause the flashing of the textile material. The use of ultrasonic cutting knives can also be expanded, such as digging holes, shovel digging, scraping paint, carving and so on.

 

The basic structure of an ultrasonic cutting knife is an ultrasonic transducer, a horn, a tool head (blade body), and a driving power source. The ultrasonic drive power source converts the mains power into high-frequency high-voltage AC current and outputs it to the ultrasonic transducer. An ultrasonic transducer is actually equivalent to an energy conversion device, which can convert the input electrical energy into mechanical energy, that is, ultrasound. Its manifestation is that the transducer moves back and forth in the longitudinal direction. The frequency of the telescopic movement is equal to the frequency of the high-frequency AC current supplied by the driving power supply. The role of the horn is to fix the entire ultrasonic vibration system, and to adjust the output amplitude of the transducer. On the one hand, the tool head (blade body) amplifies the amplitude and focuses the ultrasound. On the other hand, it outputs ultrasonic waves, and uses a similar edge of a cutting blade to input the ultrasonic energy into the cutting part of the material to be cut. Under the action of huge ultrasonic energy, this part softens and melts instantaneously, and the strength is greatly reduced. At this time, as long as a small cutting force is applied, the purpose of cutting can be achieved.
