Ultrasonic atomization spraying equipment is a spraying technology that uses ultrasonic vibration to atomize liquid materials (such as coatings, functional additives, etc.) into micron-level or even nano-level droplets, and then accurately transports the droplets through airflow and attaches them to the surface of the substrate. In fabric spraying, its unique atomization characteristics and controllability enable it to meet the fabric's multiple requirements for coating uniformity, functionality, environmental protection, and material protection. The specific applications are as follows:

1. Uniform application of functional coatings

Cloths often need to be sprayed to achieve specific functions (such as waterproof, oil-proof, antibacterial, flame-retardant, UV-resistant, etc.). The core advantage of ultrasonic atomization spraying lies in the uniformity of the coating, which can accurately adapt to the fiber structure of the fabric:

• Waterproof/oil-proof coating: Traditional spraying is prone to cause the local coating of the fabric to be too thick (affecting air permeability) or too thin (functional failure) due to excessive droplets. The droplet diameter of ultrasonic atomization can be controlled at 1-50 microns, which can evenly penetrate into the gaps between fabric fibers to form a continuous and uniformly thick film (such as fluorine-containing waterproofing agent), which not only ensures the waterproof effect, but also does not block the fiber pores and maintains the breathability of the fabric.

• Antibacterial/antiviral coating: For medical fabrics (such as surgical gowns) and home textile fabrics (such as bed sheets), antibacterial agents (such as silver ion solution, nano zinc oxide) need to be sprayed. Ultrasonic atomization can evenly distribute the antibacterial agent on the surface of the fabric and inside the fiber, avoiding local concentrations that are too high (causing the fabric to become hard) or too low (antibacterial failure), and improving the durability of antibacterial properties.

• Flame retardant coating: For fire suits, curtain fabrics, etc., flame retardants (such as phosphorus and nitrogen compounds) need to be sprayed. Ultrasonic atomization can evenly cover the fabric with flame retardants, ensuring that there are no local "weak points" when the flame contacts it, and because the coating is thin, it does not affect the flexibility of the fabric.

• 2. Protective spraying of thin/sensitive fabrics

Some fabrics (such as silk, lace, and ultra-thin knitted fabrics) are thin and light in texture and fragile in structure. The strong airflow of traditional high-pressure spraying can easily cause fabric deformation, fiber breakage or wrinkles. The low-impact characteristics of ultrasonic atomization spraying can avoid such problems:

• Ultrasonic atomization droplets are formed by low-frequency vibration, and their own kinetic energy is small. Combined with the low-flow conveying airflow, they can gently adhere to the surface of thin fabrics without destroying their original texture (such as the hollow structure of lace) or tensile properties (such as elastic knitted fabrics).

• For example, when silk fabrics need to be sprayed with anti-wrinkle finishing agents, ultrasonic atomization can make the finishing agent evenly cover the silk fibers, which not only maintains the luster and softness of silk, but also improves the anti-wrinkle effect and avoids local hardening or discoloration caused by traditional spraying.

3. Environmental protection and efficient use of materials

The environmental protection requirements for fabric processing are becoming increasingly stringent (such as limiting VOC emissions and reducing wastewater pollution). Ultrasonic atomization spraying has significant advantages in this regard:

• Low VOC emissions: Traditional spraying relies on high-pressure atomization, which can easily lead to the volatilization of a large amount of solvent-based paint (producing VOC); while ultrasonic atomization mainly relies on mechanical vibration, has strong adaptability to paint (can be adapted to water-based paint and solvent-free paint), and has a high droplet adhesion rate (usually up to 80%-90%), reducing paint volatilization and waste, and meeting environmental protection standards (such as EU REACH, domestic GB 18581).

• Material saving: For high-priced functional additives (such as antibacterial silver ions and flame-retardant phosphorus compounds), the precise attachment of ultrasonic atomization can reduce material usage (saving 30%-50% compared to traditional spraying) and reduce production costs.

In summary, ultrasonic atomization spraying equipment has irreplaceable advantages in the functional upgrading, decorative design and green production of fabrics due to its characteristics of "uniformity, low damage, high environmental protection and high controllability". It is especially suitable for the fine spraying needs in the fields of high-end clothing, industrial fabrics (medical, outdoor, protective) and so on.
